The beginning of something beautiful!!

Eek! My first ever blog! I've have had a lot of firsts this year, its definitely becoming one amazing year! I started my first business, designed my own website http://www.vanitys.co.uk/ -although I'll be the first to admit I had no idea what I was doing! Attended and sold at some of the most amazing venues and vintage fairs I have ever been to and have met some gorgeous, talented and hardworking people!

Although vintage itself as become 'trendy' I myself love to be surrounded by the 'old school vintage-ees', you know who you are! Those that used to be fascinated by their nans wardrobes, stories of war time dances and old wives tales.

My beautiful nan used to have the most amazing collection of pearls, brooches and a stunning collection of gorgeous tailored dresses, in fact my name for her was pretty nanny! She always had an air of sophistication about her and would not leave the house without lipstick, a fitted jacket and co-ordinating handbag. I always looked forward to our shopping trips in Richmond and distinctly remember her floral perfume and click clack of heels.

I believe this is where it started and every time I put on a fitted 40's dress and a string of pearls I always think of her, I miss her terribly and I never got to tell her how much she meant to me x
